Bayonne Outing

Today we met other senior missionaries and our Mission Pres and his wife
at tiny Bayonne Branch. (Branch bldg inside ends about where last window is center right.
Majority of bldg belongs to QuickChek convenience store.)

Bayonne senior missionary couple arranged a potato bar with all the trimmings.

We ate in multi-purpose room which also serves as chapel.
Tear Drop Memorial from Russian people located at
Bayonne's Harbor View Park celebrates victims of 9/11/01.
It is 100-foot tall bronze tower with jagged split down middle
and 40-foot-long stainless steel teardrop suspended in gap.
It stands on 11-sided slab of black marble carved with names
of every person who died in Sept 11th attack, as well as victims
of 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Brightly lit memorial
is visible at night from Statue of Liberty, Battery Park,
and Staten Island Ferry as well as other locations around Hudson River.
